Running: Richmond runners build weeks around the James River Park System. Buttermilk Trail and North Bank Trail keep your brain engaged because the footing demands it. The James River Loop gives locals 8 to 13 miles when they want the signature RVA run. Monument Avenue gives road legs about 5K out and back through the Historic District. Virginia Capital Trail runs 52 paved miles from Shockoe Bottom to Jamestown Settlement.
