ASICS Blue Jean Mile

The ASICS Blue Jean Mile is a free one-mile run in Jacksonville, Florida. It takes place at Tepeyolot Cerveceria on Kings Avenue in San Marco, near Atlantic Boulevard. Runners gather on a late-May evening at 6:30 p.m. for a brief, informal community run, not a formal race. The premise is straightforward: wear blue jeans, run a mile, and support mental health awareness and fundraising. ASICS and 1st Place Sports coordinate the event to support NAMI, the National Alliance on Mental Illness. The blue jeans theme originated with ASICS elite athlete Johnny Gregorek, who set a record for the fastest mile in jeans to highlight mental health issues. ASICS contributes to NAMI for each mile completed, and participants have the option to donate during registration, with donors entered into a raffle for prizes. The event has a limited number of participants, fostering a social atmosphere at the brewery, where attendees can enjoy Mexican food at Tepeyolot Cerveceria after the run.
